We live in a time of revolution in the sector, where for better or worse, the Coronavirus has played a crucial role.
The reality is that consumers have perceived shortages in their homes throughout the confinement. Suddenly, we realised that we had hardly any space for food, or that the colour of the kitchen furniture was long overdue for a change.
The lack of freedom of movement has meant that, in many homes, it has been decided to allocate the budget we had for leisure to small renovations that make us more comfortable in our homes. And one of the rooms that has been most affected by this change is the kitchen.
Since last year, we were already on the alert. Kitchen trends told us that contrasts were going to be the protagonists and they couldn’t have been more right.
Grey kitchens are making their way into the homes of our consumers. We have said goodbye to solid oak and we have welcomed grey, one of the tones that until now had been a wildcard in the decoration of our kitchens. Grey has been gaining so much strength that it has become the colour of the year, together with yellow, according to Pantone.
On the other hand, black kitchens have also gained momentum in those kitchens with more natural light. The contrast between the black of the kitchen and the light coming in from outside has managed to create an atmosphere of sophistication and personality that many consumers have captured in their homes.
Another of the transcendental changes in our consumers’ kitchens is that the interior of the furniture is beginning to take on a very important role. We are no longer just looking for the exterior to be beautiful, but we are also looking for the interior to be just as impressive and to create a wow! effect on everyone who sees it.
